Direction ：During 1983 ~ 1989, he held the Bachelor Degree and Master Degree at Northeastern University under the guidance of Wang Tingpu, a famous expert on steel rolling in China. As a key member, he fully participated in the research work of thin slab continuous casting technology, a significant project of the Seventh Five-Year Plan, focusing on the design and implementation of the temperature-drop model & control system based on continuous casting billet. From 1994, he studied at The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and held the Master Degree afterwards. After graduation, he successively worked for Motorola, 3Com and Salira and served as Senior Embedded Systems Engineer, Architect and Software Director respectively. He was mainly engaged in the research and development of embedded systems during the period. After returning to China in 2003, he was hired as a visiting professor at Software Institute, Shanghai Jiaotong University. He established the Embedded Systems Laboratory and served as the first Director. In the meanwhile, he also set up Shanghai SinoSys Technologies Co., Ltd., a joint-venture with Shanghai Jiaotong University. He also presided over the examination guidance of "National Software Level Test for Embedded System Designer". In 2006, he became the General Manager and Chief Engineer of Pudong Software Platform Co., Ltd., which was ever the largest state-investment project of Pudong for software industry. He presided over and completed two major state-level and three Shanghai-level software platform projects, and participated in the formulation of the norm and standard for national software development and testing as well. In 2013, he joined Airway Communication Group as its CEO. Based on his in-depth research, the company optimized its strategy and updated its short-to-medium-term goals and plans. He proposed the overall structure of inland integrated navigation information platform in the accordance with the comprehensive data collection, ubiquitous physical networking, real-time big data processing and semantic web show. In 2014, as the Chief Scientist of Shanghai DC Science Co., Ltd., he forward-lookingly utilized dynamic scale-out concept to design large-scale IDC and explored the "broad spectrum" of processor types: the fusion of traditional (midrange) CPU , A (low-end) ARM server for storing massive amounts of cold data and a (high-end) GPU for handling real-time data. In 2015, he became the Dean of Shanghai Open Source Big Data Institute and led the team to concentrate on the research of big data science theory & engineering based on open data and open source technologies. And the research results were industrialized in a timely and efficient manner.
